Life Is All Around

Thanks to everyone wishing me to get better! I am on antibiotics finally, so I am hoping that this nasty round of sickness goes away for good! It will be nice to function again. I was supposed to bring a friend who just had a new baby dinner, and I ended up having dinner brought to me instead... Thanks Jenny! :)

So, a few things- Wednesday night at Rico's! Justin's band will be playing from 7-9, so come out and have some delicious Mexican food and listen to a fun band! They had a huge turnout on Friday night, thanks to everyone who came! Here are a few more photos of Avenging Mars:

Also, I love to look at everyone's blogs, and I have been noticing lately that clients and friends who have my pictures up on their blogs are using the photos from your albums, (which is totally fine!) but they have my logo on them, which might be a little annoying for you to have that across all of your photos! So, (and I am getting sweaty palms as I even write this, anticipating the can of worms I may be opening) if you would like to use pictures from our session (past sessions included) on your blog, let me know and I can give you a few without the logo. They will be resized for the internet, just without the stamp across the pictures. Be kind now! It's a bit of work, especially if I get a bunch of emails, but I am more than happy to send out a few for you to use for your headers and sidebars. Not that I don't love the free publicity, but you may not love "Kristyn McBride Photography" written across the bodies of your family. Maybe just blog a note about how much you love me! :)

That stamp is on there for your protection as well as mine, when I stamp it I ensure that it won't be stolen from my blog and reprinted without my permission, and also that it won't be taken from your blog and used without your permission. Because if someone is taking it, they probably won't be able to pass it off as their own if my name is all over it. Anyway, I'm happy to do it, so just send me an email!

I think that's all for now! I need to go find a tissue and prepare to watch my new favorite show "So you think you can dance". Catie turned me onto it, and WHO KNEW? It's awesome! But it totally makes me think I can dance, which is really untrue. It did spur me into action to get my kids signed up for the summer session of dance (Weslie in hip-hop, Chayse in Combo) and now I think I may be one of those crazy stage mothers. I'm obsessed with my kids becoming the next Bonnie Story's daughter (if you watch the show you KNOW which girl I'm talking about!)

Travel Dates

Ok, first, i just need to get this out of the way. I am so sick over here! I came down with a bad cold over a week ago, which has turned into a sinus infection and the worst sore throat. Which also means I have lost my voice, so if you have called and left a message I am NOT avoiding you, I just can't talk yet! It's so hard to feel this bad and at the same time try to keep up with 3 kids and work! But enough of me feeling sorry for myself :)

So- Travel Dates! I have had some requests for family pictures at the beach this year. If you are interested in having me do your family pictures while you are on vacation in So California this summer (Newport beach area) then send me an email (link to the left) and let me know what dates you will be there. I am still in the process of planning my travel dates, and I will most likey choose the week that I have the most interest. We will schedule shoots from there. Rates will be the same as normal, since I am going to be planning my vacation around shoots, there won't be any travel fee's (good news! :)  if we are there the same week.

I have to share some pictures before I go back to my new home on the couch (covered in a mountain of tissues)...I did a big ol' extended family shoot with a group that I just can't get enough of! After the main groups pictures we did 2 individual family shoots which I'll share with you soon. For now, here are a few of my favorites from this fun day!

Preview for Joyce

Because this is exactly what you want your husbands face to look like when you jump on his back.

It must have started with Disneyland. We went out of town for a few days, and ever since I got back, I have been swamped! My days have been non-stop, and I am exhausted! I feel especially bad that I haven't been posting as much as I was the past month or two...I really felt on a roll, and now my blog is being neglected. It's always a bummer when you go blog surfing and you see the same ol' post pop up, so i am going to try harder to update...so much is going on...isn't it funny how at the times you have the most to write about, you have the least amount of time to write about it?

Here is one from Disneyland (sadly, the only picture I have edited so far! Everytime I try to edit them, I give up becasue I used my sisters camera and it's so and different I feel all out of control...I think i may need to relax a little!)

I had the chance to do a photo shoot with three little boys just about my girls age, and it was so fun! I loved seeing the boys together, i definitely gave me a glimpse into the life of having a house full of guys. One thing that I love so much about boys is how sweet and caring they are...I usually think of boys as being tough and rough-and-tumble, so I'm glad I had the chance to spend some time with these sweethearts!

 

 

 

Here are a few more from a session last week...5 year old twins and a sweet little sister! We had a last minute location change, but luckily the new one worked out great! These photos made me exited for summer...I love the stars and stripes! I think of root beer floats and fireworks!

 

Weslie rocks the hiz-ouse

Weslie performed in her schools talent show this week, and she did SO awesome! She performed a song that she wrote...I think she might be some kind of musical genius. For real! Totally unbiased opinion, of course!

I asked her afterwards if she was nervous to perform, and she rolled her eyes and said "no-wa." Which is attitude speak for no. Then I asked he if she was nervous, and she said "What is there to be nervous about? This (made a playing motion with her hands)or this (made a bow)." Then gave a big eye roll to show what a dumb question that was.

You can hear Brooklyn talking at the beginning...every time we watch this back she dies laughing at herself talking!
